Make A Joyful Noise!

Isn’t it amazing how we as Christians, if we aren’t careful, will allow the wrong kind of noise come from our lives?  Noises of doubt and negativity, noises of disappointment and dissatisfaction, and even noises of entitlement.  The truth is, the Lord desires for us to make a joyful noise unto Him.  I preached this past Sunday morning on the subject “Make A Joyful Noise” taking my text from Psalms 100:1-5.  The word Noise is translated from the Hebrew word that means “to raise a battle cry, to sound a trumpet blast, to shout in triumph, to shout”.

God has given each of us the ability to be a creator of something good.  When we choose to be thankful, we raise a battle cry that defeats the enemies coming against our lives.  The enemy does not want you joyful and when we give thanks unto the Lord it produces joy in our lives. That is why far too many find themselves living in such heaviness and depression because they have lost their joy.  They’ve lost their joy because they stopped being thankful and having a heart of praise and worship and started focusing on all that is wrong in their lives.  See the connection?  It is not a psychological thing, it is most definitely a spiritual thing!!  The weapons of our warfare are not carnal! (2 Corinthians 10:4) We will win the battle by spiritual means and it all starts with a heart of praise!

At the same time, we cannot allow the noises on the peripheral of our lives keep us from being thankful for the blessings of the Lord.  Sometimes the noises coming from other individual’s lives can be filled with negativity.  It will steal your attention and get your focus off of the Lord and the blessings He has bestowed.  In turn, this will cause you to take on the same type of negative noise.  Psalms 100 is a call to every believer to be thankful unto the Lord!  “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.  For the Lord is good…”. (Psalms 100:4,5) Thankfulness gives way to a powerful praise that will birth perseverance in your life, open spiritual jail cells, bring down walls and barriers, run the ole devil off, and usher in the presence of Almighty God into your situation!  I say let’s start now making a joyful noise!!

If you have been guilty of looking at all of the negative and in turn it has stifled your heart of thanksgiving and worship; then I would like to encourage you, no, I would like to challenge you, to start making a joyful noise!  Put your praise on and run off every spirit of heaviness!  It will get you through your struggles and open up Heaven over your life like never before.

Make A Joyful Noise!  After all, don’t we have so much to be thankful for?
